Huntingdon, Pennsylvania is home to Lake Raystown Family Camping Resort. This 100-acre campground accommodates tent, RV, or cabin guests. It has free WiFi and a catch and release lake. There are also 60 acres of walking trails. A marina and a course are also available at the resort. This is a great place for your pet to have fun while you travel.

There are two beaches that are open to the public on the lake. The Seven Points is the ideal area to enjoy a sandy beach. You can rent a houseboat, or hire a boatman to take out the fisherman. The lake also has a number museums that provide local history. For those of you with a taste for racing, the Hesston Speedway is a good bet.

There are many attractions close by, including Trough Creek State Park and Allegrippis Trails. These are all within a short drive of the campground. The Allegrippis Trails actually forms part of Raystown Mountain Bike Training Park. The park has some of the best trails for mountain biking in the state, even though it is small. The nearby Six Points and Mount Hermon ski areas are other places to visit and enjoy.

The lake's first-class campsites are close to the water. On more than 100 acres, there are 250 campsites. Each campsite has all the necessary amenities including water, fire ring, and electric. They are also very close to the aforementioned allegrippis.


It is not possible to expect a luxury RV or full service cabin at the resort. However, you can expect to get a nice room for the money. Raystown Lake Family camping Resort offers many perks, including a catch-and-release pond, a marina and a swimming pool. There are also pet friendly rooms. It is also surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it a beautiful drive.

The lake is also surrounded by a whopping 21,000 acres of public land, much of which is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. You can see that there are many areas that are protected from residential development. This is the paradox of it all. There have been some exceptions, however, including one home that fell on a steep hill without warning. Cool fact: The resort also has a dog park. Your pet must be kept on a 6-foot lead outside your vehicle.

Raystown Lake Family Camping Resort is not without its gimmicks. But the best part about it is that it's a great place to stay. There are a couple things to consider when you're deciding between this and the other tweeps in the neighborhood, but it's worth a visit, and it's the only one of its kind in the area.
