The Brazos River Authority has eight public use areas. Each one has a 24-hour parking area and restrooms. Each is also a good location to stop for a picnic. The Bug beach - Brazos rivers Public Use Area #5 includes 6-15 Texas campsites. The area is protected by a fence. The area has toilets, drinking water, as well as a dump site.
Another option is to head to the Point of Rocks Picnic Area. This park affords a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside and at night, it is unobstructed.
