Holly Bluff Family Campground, a small campground located near Asheboro in North Carolina, is the perfect place to camp. This campground has been a favorite of many families for more than 40 years. The main attractions include a large swimming pool, a mini golf course, and a great church service. The campground is centrally located in Central Piedmont's Uwharrie Mountains.
Holly Bluff camp houses about 100 campsites on 60 acres. The park features several amenities including a large pool, a mini golf course, and an on-site flight simulator for the kids. There is also a church service and bingo. The North Carolina Aviation Museum can also be found in the park. This museum displays military equipment from the state and the Piper J-3 Orville Wright flew during the Wright Brothers' first test flights.
The campground has existed for a while and has gone through many iterations. Ramona Shaw (Bill Shaw) built the original campground. They laid the road to the site as well as the first water lines. Bill died in 1999. Ramona his widow still manages the campground and a few her grandchildren help out with the day to-day operations.
The camp is a popular destination for both locals and travelers from the near and far. The park is easily accessible from Greensboro and Asheboro. Visitors travel from other cities and towns to attend the Richard Petty motorcoach competition. The Birkhead Hills Wilderness, home to the oldest mountains of North America, is located just minutes from the campground. This is a wonderful spot to connect with nature and experience the serenity outdoors.
Holly Bluff camp is a well-known and trusted place that offers comfort and enjoyment in a warm and friendly environment. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. The best part is that the campground is dog-friendly. A pet fee is charged, but that's not a deal breaker.
There are plenty of activities available on-site and around the area. You can also spend a day at the local Zoo or take a tour of North Carolina Aviation Museum. There are many other fun and games, such as bouncy houses and corn hole tournaments.
Holly Bluff Family campground is the best campground around Asheboro. This campground is the only one in Trinity County that boasts such a comprehensive list of amenities. You will find a 10-acre mini-golf course, a great spa, and a large shelter to hold church services. Two swimming pools are available. Although one pool is tiny, it was the only one of its kind in this area.
