Venturing is a youth-led organization that combines Scouting's core values with outdoor adventure. This program allows young adults to learn new skills, meet new friends, and develop real-world leadership. The program includes backpacking, camping, backcountry trips, and long-term, as well short-term, overnight camping. Participants may take part in high-adventure activities including rock climbing, kayaking and many more.
The BSA has many camp options to help scouts get out and explore the great outdoors. Camp Tuckahoe on Stillwater Lake is one example of these facilities. It covers 242 acres. Camp Circle X, located in Tonner Valley, is another popular option.
The 600-acre Boy Scouts of America's Paul Bunyan Scout Reservation borders the Huron National Forest. It is located southwest Kalamazoo, in Texas Township. It can also be found on M-33. This camp is for boys and girls aged six to twelve years old.
Camp Brorein is one of the oldest Boy Scout camps. It was established in 1923. The camp is bordered by two lakes and many Live Oaks trees. The camp also has a shooting range and indoor dining. The camp is a favorite for scouts.
The camp was run by the Alexander Hamilton Council, Hudson County, NJ in the 1930s & 1940s. It was the country's first institution to offer Wood Badge Training. The council closed the camp in 1979. The 56 acres of land remaining were sold.
The Flaming Arch Scout Reservation was founded in 1972. It consists three clear spring-fed natural lakes. It is close to Cypress Gardens. It is also famous for its pristine wilderness.
The S - F Scout Ranch consists of four camps. Sinquefield Scout Ranch occupies 580 acres. It is a member and honor society of Mic-O-Say Scouts and has a metal workshop and full-wood shop. It also offers scouting camps for ages ten through fourteen. It is the fourth camp at S-F.
